Detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowery are officially back on the case-with a new theme too!
According to Entertainment Weekly, Bad Boys III just got a January 12th 2018 release date, along with a new name. Look for Sony to be referring to this one as Bad Boys For Life. The new title reflects a line from the 2003 sequel of Bad Boys II when Will Smith’s character, Detective Lowery told his partner Martin Laurence’s character, detective Burnett “We ride together, we die together. Bad boys for life.”
Joe Carnahan will be in the directors chair this go round, rather than Michael Bay, the director of the first 2 installments of the Bad Boys series.
The original Bad Boys was released 21 years ago, back in 1995, following the sequel in 2003. Rumors have already started swirling around Hollywood about Bad Boys 4 having a tentative release date of July 3, 2019.
